| Adorable illustrations are the highlight of this simple little tale of two mice baking cupcakes. The mice are expressive and their antics in the kitchen are so charmingly rendered that this book is sure to be a hit especially among the 4-6 year old set. Any child who has ever helped out in the kitchen will be able to share a smile with these two lovable mice as they crack the eggs and mix the batter on their way to some yummy looking surprise birthday cupcakes. The illustrations are clear, and although done in pastels, do not appear washed out. This and the well written dialogue make this a great choice for story times for older preschoolers and kindergarten students. Recommended. |
