| This is a fun way to work with early readers. It is a short story about a dog and his lost hat. I like the way it uses words that can be sounded out phonetically and also incorporates a few sight words. The story is repeated 3 times in the book. The first version is "read a loud". The second, allows for practice writing words. A few words are traceable. (no need to write the words independently). The third version, has a large number of stickers that can be used to "decorate" the story. The pictures are also designed to be colored. Love, Love, Love this series. It certainly keeps the attention of my toddler.
We also have the Nora Gaydos Playful Pals series, which is also a fun way to enhance reading skills. The characters are so cute and colorful. |

| ora Gaydos is an elementary school teacher in Connecticut with over ten years of experience teaching kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and fourth grade. She has a comprehensive understanding of how beginning readers develop from pre-readers to independent readers. As a teacher, she was inspired to create the Now I'm Reading program after seeing firsthand how children learn to read. Her goal was to build a series that was fun, motivating, and "just right" for beginning readers. |
