| PreSchool-K-A simple story of friends who learn that friendship matters as much as individual success. Bing, who loves to cook, and Chutney, who loves to dance, live together happily until the Sunday that Chutney decides to move to the big city to seek fame. Alone on Monday, Bing opens a cooking school and soon becomes well known for her culinary skills. Meanwhile, Chutney's dancing brings her renown and adoration. Happily, by week's end, the two are reunited, although it is unclear whether they will again become roommates. In addition to an ambiguous ending, some of the writing is vague; at times, the book reads as if a scene or two were missing. However, the watercolor cartoons are of a higher quality than the text. They depict Bing as a smiling pink pig, often clad in a jaunty chef's hat. Chutney, a grinning gray elephant, dances through the book in toe shoes and tutus. Due to large white areas that frame many of the scenes and vignettes, the art is relatively small, making the book more suited to lap sharing than to group use.
