| Like Shahryar, my 6-year-old son kept asking for another fascinating tale each night...
I've never read the original but this certainly did seem abbreviated -- we were bummed when we finished it in a few days.
I love these Classic Starts and have read many of them with my son. They are good for just an entertaining book in the short term -- and may turn kids on to the longer version in the longer-term. The chapters are very short if you really just want to read for a few minutes; and it's easy to read several in a sitting. I'd say Arabian Nights has been one of my son's favorites so far. The tales in this volume are quite different from the typical reads for this age group and my son was enthralled. |
