| An unusual book in that 'the readers' have to perform various actions to help the story along. Very interactive, and much liked here. A group of five elephants are off to the back of the book, 'Watering Hole'. They are Elton, Elgar, Eleanor, Elizabeth and Elphie. Elphie is the littlest one and wants to go first. To try to get him to the head of the queue is your job.
Thinking laterally, first of all you are asked to call his name, then make a loud hissing noise, then wobble the book, then - guess what? A loud squeaking noise...Growling, snapping, roaring all to no avail. However the Watering Hole is already occupied and Elphie has a clever idea. Which he needs the readers to carry out...
An excellent book to read aloud, especially for more than one child for maximum effect! |
