It travels via breezes, sneezes, and a runner from baby brother to family pets, Honey Bee, and bears to end up that evening back where it belongs, on the little girl's cheek. "A kiss can go the world around,/And come back where it should be found." Yolen's text is verb-rich with burps, bumps, and spins to keep the action rolling. Baxter's pen-and-ink drawings trace the kiss's journey with pink arrows flowing amid varyingly detailed scenes that match the pace of the text. | Mama's Kiss shows the power of this mother's kiss. Once she blows her daughter a kiss, it travels and meets people and creatures along the way. It brings a smile to faces along the way before bouncing off onto the next recipient. Bears, bees, dogs and cats are all some of the things this kiss bestows. Remember when you were a kid? A mom's hug and kiss are the most powerful medicine in the world. Though this kiss is on a long journey, it ends up on the daughter's cheek just in time for bed. Yolen demonstrates just how important affection is. Baxter's illustrations are cheery and whimsical. This is a perfect book for a bedtime story.
