Each event in a boy's day is filled with double meanings and humor when told from his unique point of view.

| PreSchool-Grade 1 An entertaining story told in simple declarative statements. A little boy tells of waking up early, making breakfast, going to the zoo and to a ballgame, coming home to daddy's special meal of a pizza delivery, and, finally, staying up late. The humorous illustrations offer an entirely different point of view, showing the narrator startling his father awake and the man chasing after his underwear-clad son. The child says, I got dressed to go out. The cartoon paintings and tongue-in-cheek text are reminiscent of David Shannon's No, David! (Scholastic, 1998). The characters have dots for eyes, and the full-bleed spreads are saturated with bright colors. The use of acrylic on canvas board produces a textured look that resembles pastels, adding to the childlike feel. The endpapers, filled with drawings that are ostensibly the work of the little boy, depict him and his daddy and serve as a nice lead-in. While not an essential purchase, this is a pleasant addition for storytimes in libraries needing more picture books featuring fathers. |

| I love to read this book to my little boy. He likes the colors and thinks the pictures are funny. I shared it with our mommy and me class and the kids ages 1.5 and 2.5 enjoyed it. It's a fun book to read.
