| I brought this book back from Scotland for my 3-year-old daughter. She fell in love with the brightly-colored pictures of animals and thought the idea of hiding candy in your hair was very funny. I didn't realize how much the book had resonated with her until today after she had suffered a scrape on her leg that required bandaging and I told her that she had been very brave, to which she replied "Just like Hamish the Highland Cow". I was impressed she had made that transfer to a situation other than getting a hair cut. This book would be perfect for any child with a new experience on the horizon. |
