| Like one of Dulcie's yummy confections, this sparkly fairy story seems sweet and lightweight. When you look deeper, however, there's also a bit of wisdom: an important lesson about jealousy and appreciation.
The plot centers on Dulcie, a dedicated baking fairy who loses her top spot at the bakery while on a forced vacation. The story focuses on her efforts to win back her job and impress the other fairies. At the end, she understands her jealousy towards bossy fairy Ginger, and develops a deep appreciation for the talents of the other fairies living at Pixie Hollow.
Thirty-two delicate watercolor illustrations bring the story to life.
The charming cover includes sparkly pixie dust from Tinker Bell, leaning over to sniff Dulcie's cream horns, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and other yummilicious goodies. The book's reading level is 2.7. |
