Overview / 简介:
It's hard to be little in the middle of everything big. This little bear has legs that dangle, arms that can't quite reach, and a sister who likes to remind him that she's bigger. He is sure that he will never, ever, ever grow. But just when he begins to lose hope, he finds proof that maybe--just maybe--he is growing . . . a little at a time.

Valeri Gorbachev's charming illustrations and Michael J. Rosen's rhythmic text perfectly capture the frustration children feel when they can't do something because they're too small--and the excitement of discovering each new thing they can do!

From Organization / 国外机构评价:
PreSchool-K–A cub laments his diminutive size in this likable picture book. The little guy needs a step stool to use the water fountain, he can't reach the coat hook, and his feet don't touch the floor when he sits at his desk at school. He longs to be bigger–but then Grandpa says he's getting too big for lifting and he has to duck under doorways when he rides on his uncle's shoulders, and he realizes that he is growing, bit by bit, after all. Gorbachev's pen-and-ink and watercolor illustrations capture the little bear's frustrations and joys, and his expressive animal characters will fascinate young children. Though the book is less a story than a litany of ways in which young children grow, it speaks to the emotions of kids who can't wait to get a little bigger.–Kathleen Kelly MacMillan, Maryland School for the Deaf, Columbia

Foreign Customer Review / 国外客户评价:
This tale is not too big and not too small: it's just right. It's about the impatience most every child (here, in the guise of a small bear) feels about wanting to be bigger. Big enough to do all things the future promises. Slowly, surely, the little bear finds out (ah, that's what patience is!) that he IS growing, and probably no faster or slower than anyone else. Rosen's prose is simple, heartfelt, witty, and on target, and Gorbachev's pictures and welcoming and endearing. For kids big and small.
