PreSchool-Axtell takes a storytime classic to the African savanna, where loving sisters enjoy a day's adventure. With fruit, juice, and teddy bear in hand, they travel through towering green grasses under the watchful eye of a giraffe, swim through a dappled blue lake with zebras and a flamingo, and pull each other through a squishy swamp unbeknownst to a hippopotamus. They wake the lion sleeping in his cave, and as he follows them, they arrive home and shut the door safely. The adventure has neither dampened their spirits nor muddied their white anklets. Axtell's sun-soaked, impressionistic oil paintings offer beautiful landscapes and engaging details, from wild animals who linger at a safe distance, to a dropped teddy that is retrieved just in time. Large figures on the page make this a good choice for storytimes as well as lap times. 儿子5岁，拿回着本书来成了儿子的大爱！虽然他比较胆小，每次都要求我陪同一起听音频，但对他来讲充满了刺激。问我为什么他们要tiptoe,tiptoe!而不是stomp,stomp!和我讨论如果我们去猎熊要带什么工具。呵呵！只要是吸引孩子的书就是好书！

有趣的故事、轻快的节奏，还有清新的图画，身临其境的纸上探险，与孩子一起分享捉狗熊的兴奋与惊险吧。　　有一户人家，趁着好天气要去捉狗熊，他们经过了高大摇摆的野草、又凉又深的河水、又深又黏的烂泥、好大好深的树林、又急又大的风雪、又窄又暗的山洞，终于在山洞里发现一只狗熊，然而他们一见到巨大的狗熊，马上回头跑回洞口、跑回风雪中、跑回树林里、跑回烂泥地、再跑回野草地，最后打开自家大门，跑进卧房，盖上被子，吓得再也不敢去捉狗熊了。全书以韵文朗诵诗的方式呈现，读起来朗朗上口，适合全家一起朗读。

在优酷上搜到了这本书的真人演绎版，妈妈先自己学习，然后演绎给孩子看，孩子慢慢的喜欢上了这本书，而且是每个月都要借来看几天，喜欢模仿表演！

书中的文字不断反复而且朗朗上口，有些儿歌的感觉，而且画风清新细腻。

We're going on a bear hunt(我们去猎熊)讲的是：一个阳光明媚的日子，爸爸带着一家四个孩子及一条狗去猎熊发生的故事。
　　　We're going on a bear hunt(我们去猎熊)虽然是句子形式展示，但段落结构重复，整本书一大部分都是重新故事前两页的段落结构：
　　　We're going on a bear hunt. We're going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day!We're not scared. Uh-uh!_____________________We can't go over it. We can't go under it. Oh no!We've got to go through it!
　　　全本书都是这样的整段话重复出现，每次出现加深印象，并且方便孩子理解记忆。
　　　这一家大小6口所经过了Grass, River, Mud, Forest, Snowstorm, Cave这些地方。这一家的冒险，经历很丰富，他们爬山涉水，穿过森林，顶住了暴风雪，终于来到了熊居住的cave。看看他们猎熊的雄心壮志——看似不成功不罢休啊！
　　　可是，当真正看到熊之后呢？他们是什么表现呢？看到熊之后，他们十分紧张。看看那些紧凑的画面——之前那么多页所经历的事情，在短短两页就解决了——可见这一家6口是如何的惊慌失措啊！
　　　知道这一家6口回来后，是躲在哪个地方吗？竟然是一家人抖抖索索地躲在床上！哈哈——这样也可以躲避熊的追捕！！！！
　　　We're going on a bear hunt(我们去猎熊)是一本可以表演出来的绘本，而且可以帮助孩子拓展词汇。这本书可以是老师进行教授编成短剧，进行表演。也可以家长和孩子表演进行亲子活动。
　　　温馨提示：此书建议想听音频，或先看视频，此书语言朗朗上口，孩子听起来会比直接看更喜欢。

先给孩子讲了，兴趣不大。下载了音频，读得很有节奏、感情，孩子要求重复听了几遍，尤其是穿过草地、沼泽、高山...一个个下来，碰到熊之后又顺次经历一遍，孩子听着音频，自己找到关键词，知道说的是哪页，对英语先有感性认识再说
