“Biscuit is a charming little fellow. Traditional and sweet just like homemade buttermilk biscuits with honey.” (Kirkus Reviews ) |

Good beginner's book for pre-schoolers showing interest in words in order to start reading--or "pretending" to be reading by themselves!
Repetition of words is very helpful. Still, I would choose to repeat words more useful than the mere "Woof woof"-- i.e. , repetition of "see" is useful, .."bear" is useful, "hug" could be repeated more. These are more practical additions to pre-schooler's vocabulary. "Woof Woof" is not teaching the little pre-schooler to recognize anything more useful than the "W" sound..every toddler knows how to make basic animal sounds!
The name "Biscuit" could have been changed out for a more useful descriptive word-- like "Spot" or "Paws" or even "Cookie" or "Ginger":--pre-schoolers will not use the word "Biscuit" much because they encounter more "crackers" and "cookies" than biscuits"! |
