| I purchased this series after finishing the Step into Reading Step 1 books, e.g. Sunshine, Moonshine, etc. These Barron's series of books for beginning readers comprise a series of illustrated stories. Each book in the series uses a set of sight words and emphasizes a word family, for e.g. at, ish, ug, im, op, etc. Each story uses the root words and facilitates the child's vocabulary-building, adding more words to a child's vocabulary as he/she progresses from one book to the next.
