Manufactured in China. Marked for "1+ years." Board book, 12 pages, die-cut holes with moving eyes. Published by Make Believe Ideas Ltd in 2007. No author or illustrator is named on the book.
In rhyming text, a mystery is exposed. At Googlie Zoo, the eyes are just about popping out of the animals' heads. What could have them all so shocked? What could it be that could scare even Titus the Tiger? (sh, don't tell... it's a dinosaur!)
The die-cut holes in each page allow the moving eyes to be set in the startled face of a different animal with each turn of the page. On the final page, all the animals have individual tiny little moving eyes, too. The small sets are recessed to be flat against the page. Normally, a book with these eyes has a choking hazard warning, but this one does not, so I experimented in trying to remove the eyes. I wasn't able to do it without destroying the book, so it is possible that you don't need to worry, but keep an... um... eye on it anyway. The images of the animals, other than the moving eyes, are photos, which makes those moving eyes look just that little bit funnier.
