| I agree with others that I do not like that the writers used the word "hate." But I use it as a teaching opportunity for her--just because others use it or say it, does not make it ok. I think as parents, if you do not use it at home, our children tend not to use those words as well--especially at younger ages. We have to take these opportunities and turn them into positives for our children. It would be a shame if I did not read this story to her. She "LOVES" it and wants it read every night before bedtime. It is a cute storyline and it has taught her to clean up after "Yucky" things happen or spill. Every time she sees a dirty car, mud or etc... she says "Yucky Man clean it up." It is very cute that when she spills her water, she now cleans it up all by herself--at least she does her best to try. |
