Each colorful page is beautifully designed, and the well-executed cut-paper collages draw readers into the poems, enhancing the mood suggested by the words. For example, "Star-light, star-bright" is illustrated with the image of a huge tree, its branches and roots reaching out across the center of the spread, and a lone star hanging in the sky.
