| Kindergarten-Grade 2—Tallulah the cat is back, this time playing school with her friends. She leads an alligator, a pig, a dog, and a penguin through roll call, storytime, snacks, and other typical activities. The gouache illustrations are busy and bright with fun thought balloons, newsprint, lots of colorful patterns and designs, and details that include 'Tallulah's Snackitty Crackers Recipe" and the rules for a game she calls "cat and mouse." Playing school with friends is such a standard childhood pastime that kids will delight in reading about how others do it, especially when the teacher is a spirited feline.—Linda M. | The characters from the book In the Kitchen with Talluah are back! This time they are playing school. Talluah is a great teacher. She makes learning fun and makes everyone feel at home in her classroom!
The illustrations in this book are wonderful! They tease the imagination to see animals playing human roles. Also, the emotions of the animals seemed to be expressed through the style and colors of the background and the writing on the pages.
It's great for a back to school theme story time!
