: Ready to Read 是 Simon Spotlight 出版的、和 Nickelodeon、CGTV 等电视动画片密切配合的分级读物。这套书最显著的特点，就是和动画片紧密结合，Nickelodeon、CGTV 等播放的电视动画片，对应的分级读物都在这套书中，包括著名的海绵宝宝（SpongeBob Squarepants）、朵拉(Dora)、The Backyardigans（花园宝宝）、Go Diego Go!、Wonder Pets!、Go Gabba Gabba、Blue's Clues（蓝色斑点狗） 等动画片对应的绘本，所有的美国孩子都至少看过这些中的部分动画片，几乎每个美国孩子都对这些书津津乐道。另外，现在国内的卫星电视也可以看到 Nickelodeon 频道了。

| Kindergarten-Grade 1-Aided by Henry's father, this terrific twosome enters a snowman-building contest at the local park. The entries are many and clever-from snowdogs and snowpeople to snow aliens. Henry's entry, however, stumps the judges-until he explains that the green-paint-spattered figure represents his father when he's painting a chair, and he wins third place for the most original creation. With a giant box of snowman cookies as their prize, the victorious albeit messy trio returns home to indulge in an equally wonderful cookie mess. Full of this series' usual good-natured humor, this easy read-aloud will warm the hearts of emerging readers. The watercolor and pen-and-ink illustrations lend a gentle and simple touch to this lovely adventure.

| The Henry and Mudge series is a set of delightful adventures for young readers. My son was a big fan of Cynthia Rylant's work when he was learning to read and I have now started a collection for my therapy dog's "Reading to Rover" book bag. Henry and Mudge and the Snowman Plan delivers Kid-N-Pet snow-day adventures with colorful illustrations. |
