| My daughter is a Fancy Nancy fan and beginning reader. We have a lot of other "I Can Read" level 1 books. The Fancy Nancy titles are by far the most complex and difficult to read - it's not just the "fancy" words, they are denser, less repetitive and more challenging overall. This makes them more fun to have read to your early reader.
However, my daughter's love of Fancy Nancy is such that she persevered through the book for a half an hour to find out what happened at the end. (Most level 1 series books she whips through in 10 minutes or less.) The story is sweet - I just wish the level was more accurate! |
