| Got this book because my daughter hates having her hair brushed, much prefering "messy hair" to the agony of brushing. She greatly enjoys reading this, laughing throughout the story, and for me, it's an opportunity to explore with her why hair needs to be brushed! The rhyming scheme is quite good and overall it's a good book. There are two things I really don't like though: 1) the ending...would have much preferred an alternate solution to chopping her hair off! and 2) the page with the line "she puts on a dress with some earrings and pearls, and lipstick and perfume like most other girls"...yuck! we've altered and written over that line. |

| Lee Fox worked as a production assistant for a commercial radio station, before becoming a writer. Ella Kazoo is her first picture book, and she lives in Australia with her five children.
Jennifer Plecas is the illustrator of over twenty books, which include Please Is a Good Word to Say and Love Is a Good Thing to Feel. She lives in Missouri with her family.
