| This is a very cute book for Easter. However, if you're looking for something with the REAL meaning of Easter, this one mentions nothing. But it's a very cute scenario how Corduroy and his friends get ready for their big Easter party. The book shows how they go to the store and buy what they need, they then go to a farm to get the eggs to dye, and come back to Corduroy's house to decorate and dye eggs.
All this time, however, Corduroy is doubting the existence of the Easter bunny, but keeps that to himself since he doesn't want to ruin the fun of his friends. That was nice - not wanting to ruin things for his friends - a really nice touch from the author. The Easter bunny comes and that's Corduroy's best surprise for Easter, especially after the bunny leaves them a note! What is also very neat is to see how many pages has the little Easter Bunny hiding. He's watching the fun the friends are having the whole time. A very cute and very beautifully colored book. It's just so nice and "springlike" with all the various colors and flowers in bloom. A great little book - I have to read ours a zillion times every night so I highly recommend it, even to toddlers. |
