| PreS-1-Two beavers try to get some sleep in this cartoon-style picture book. Max is quite ready to hit the hay, but Milo is wide awake. When counting sheep doesn't work, he wakes his brother to ask for advice. Max suggests that Milo read a book, but the lamp is broken. The pattern repeats, with Max advising Milo on how to deal with one dilemma after another. Finally, Milo wears himself out but, predictably, now Max can't get back to sleep. The bright digital artwork is arranged in episodic panels, and the text consists of dialogue in word balloons. The kid-friendly pictures of cute critters will appeal to young children. No new ground is broken here, but this would be a pleasant addition to collections in need of simple bedtime books |

| My kids and I love this story about nightime craziness! I especially like the sweet relationship between the brothers. Everyone has trouble sleeping sometimes. This book makes you laugh about it. |

| Heather Long is the author of Max & Milo Go to Sleep and Max & Milo The Mixed-up Message. She earned a degree in Fashion Design from Florida State University and has worked as a fashion designer, a wardrobe stylist, and has even owned her own boutique. She currently lives in Florida with her husband, author and illustrator Ethan Long; her stepdaughter; and two sons.
Ethan Long is the acclaimed author and illustrator of many books for children, among them the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner Up, Tall, and High. He is also the creator of the animated, Emmy-nominated series Tasty Time with ZeFronk, which airs daily on Disney Junior. |
