| A nicely illustrated book from the outside jacket design which includes a glossy paste down chimp to the cute chimp pictures inside. The pictures fairly well illustrate the moods and feelings the author is trying to portray. The last two pages show the same pictures without words, which you could use to test your child on facial expressions and body language if such is your desire. The words used are fairly simple so that a few three year olds and those older might be able to read them. I got this book for my grandson and he liked it the first time he viewed it. One suggestion that I have is that all the pictures were of a boy chimp, and I wondered if we couldn't have had the same chimp in girl's clothing on some pages to be a little more appealing to little girls. |

| Anthony Browne has won many prizes for his work, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000 for his services to children's literature - the first British illustrator to win the prize since 1956. In his role as the Children's Laureate he has inspired children of all ages to play the shape game! Anthony has written over 40 books and lives in Canterbury, Kent. |
