| PreSchool-Grade 1 A slight episode about a navy-blue cat, new white shoes, and maintaining a positive outlook. Pete the Cat strolls down the street singing, I love my white shoes, I love my white shoes, I love my white shoes. Then he steps in (actually climbs up) a huge hill of strawberries that turn his pristine sneakers red. Did Pete cry? Goodness, no! He kept walking along and singing his song. I love my red shoes.... He proceeds to step in a mound of blueberries and then a mud puddle, each incident changing his sneakers to a new hue (the colors never blend). Unsmiling but placid, Pete takes it all in stride. After stepping into a bucket more like a tub of water, he notices that his sneakers are not only white again, but also wet. Even though they are back to their original color, the next illustration perplexingly shows Pete walking along with each shoe sporting one of the four colors highlighted in the book. Bright, childlike illustrations show the long-limbed feline regularly altering his footwear but continuing not to watch where he's walking. The moral of the story keep going no matter what happens to you in life may sound like good advice, but it doesn't instill any sense of power in children it just tells them to accept their fate. | I first saw this book when it was self-published here in Georgia and was amazed at the reception it received everywhere it went. The reaction of children from as young as 2 years old to seven was incredible. It instanly became their favorite book and was a nightly read. The accompaning music/story that can be downloaded(free) with this publication by Harper Collins actually means that it isn't long before the children know the story by heart and love to help read it sometimes with much gusto. A YouTube video of just such an occurence gives a clear idea of what goes on with children when two adorable little girls read Pete the Cat themselves at bedtime. |

图画象小朋友画的,色彩很漂亮,很艳丽,文字简单重复,不过押韵,很适合刚开始接触英文的小孩子.而且这本书还配备了一首歌,可以从书中附的一张纸片提供的地址去下载,该网站上还有一个女孩子念这本书的视频,很有趣.Charlie正处于色彩敏感期,看见颜色,都要重复一遍,这首歌听了几次,居然有了音乐一响人也跟着节奏动的现象了.要知道,之前他听了很多儿歌,好像还是个乐盲似的...适合亲子阅读,游戏 |

第一次去安迪图书馆，图书馆的老师推荐的，宝宝一看见就问是不是蓝色的猫，和CD一起边听边看，很喜欢那首歌，很快就跟着一起唱，一口气看了三遍。
个人觉得很不错，内容和创意都很好，歌也好听，这是宝宝第一次听英文绘本，就很喜欢。
有歌的绘本更能激发小盆友的兴趣。 |

国外的绘本中总是透着一种积极乐观的心态.让孩子从小就接触或浸泡在这种快乐的氛围中.这个故事的寓意也是很好的,通过非常有创意的一双 cat's white shoes changed from white to be red, blue,brown,white again but wet. 但Cat's mood will be always happy...singing song.
最后一句是:The moral of Pete's story is :No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song.....这句话大人也是受益非浅.所以绘本的适合年龄是0-99岁.. |

收到这次借的书后我逐本翻看了一遍，个人最爱这本。忍不住拿给同事看，同事看时也说，这本书真好！如果我们的孩子都能用这样的书来学英语那孩子得多幸福啊！
晚上回家读给儿子听，我尽量模仿音频里的语音语调来给他读，儿子非常喜欢，并且他知道的一些单词（颜色）我都让他自己来说。每次到"Did Pete cry?",也都让儿子来回答，儿子非常喜欢。 |

这本书刚拿到手时，其实我个人是很喜欢的，但儿子一看封面就说不要看，当时小失望了一下。后来我自己拿出来看，翻到里面有一首歌，就哼哼起来（当时还没听过音频，所以是自己乱唱的），儿子一听就凑过来了，可能觉得很奇怪，怎么还可以唱呢（吸引注意力的一招成功！），我又拿出书上夹的名片，说这首歌还可以从网上下载的，你看，这上面还有网址呢！妈妈唱得没那么好听，想不想听听CAT怎么唱啊？他自然是很期待的。后来，这本书居然成了他反复爱读的书，常让我读给他听，最喜欢我唱书中的歌。所以说，一开始不喜欢并不代表永远不喜欢，如果能从书中找到有小孩特别喜欢的一样东西，哪怕是一点点，可能也会让孩子喜欢上一本书哦。 |

为了让孩子接受《Pete the cat》这本书，我找来白色，红色，蓝色，褐色鞋，把床上的被子堆成A large pile of strawberries, A large pile of blueberries. 还拿了和图中差不多的盆，装点水当道具，起初我来表演，后来Lyn主动要玩，再到最后两个人一起来，看谁听到音频里相应的词，先抢到鞋。玩得不亦乐乎！ 慢慢地，孩子也会看图，发现图中的细节了。
快要还书时，我习惯性地把书都再过一遍。，本来我打算自己念的，刚念完第一页，Lyn就接上去了，居然一口气对着图给念完了（效果和Eric Carl的书一样），除了几个词含糊，整体感觉很好。

这本书是孩子最喜欢的一本，明亮的色彩能够迅速吸引孩子的注意力；简单的画面又不会分散孩子的注意力。句式简单重复，容易吸引孩子，特别值得一提的是它的音频，节奏非常欢快动听，孩子第一遍听就喜欢上了，跟着哼唱几遍就能复述出来，适合亲子阅读。内容和句子对4岁半孩子来说正适合。 |
