| My 18 month old son is obsessed with zebras. I ordered a few zebra themed books for him because I knew he would enjoy them. I received this book and started looking through it before wrapping it. The pictures are cute. The story is simple. But, I was horrified as I was reading it and got to the end where it says "Zebras eat grass..." then turned the page and saw "But lions eat zebras." What?! Now why would I want to read this to my child so he can dream about his beloved zebra being eaten by a lion? I understand that eventually he will need to learn about the circle of life, but not yet. It's terrible. I will probably take some white-out and change that page to "lions CHASE zebras" just so I can feel comfortable with him still having the book. I just don't think it's an appropriate ending for a book meant for little children. |
